內部電弧分級（IAC）是金屬封閉式開關設備的安全等級標示，證明該設備在內部電弧故障發生時能保護周圍人員安全。等級標示包含保護方向、電弧故障電流值和持續時間。
白話說明
金屬封閉式開關設備內部如果發生電弧故障，瞬間釋放的能量可能炸開箱體、噴出高溫氣體。IAC 分級就是透過實際試驗驗證——在指定電流和時間下發生內部電弧時，箱體不會炸開、不會噴火到操作人員站立的位置。

經型式試驗證明在內部電弧故障發生時，能滿足規定之人員保護標準的金屬封閉式開關設備。 試驗參數包括電弧故障電流（三相及適用時單相接地）之有效值與電弧故障持續時間。

internal arc classified switchgear and controlgear (IAC): metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear for which prescribed criteria for protection of persons are met in the event of internal arc, as demonstrated by type tests. arc fault current: three-phase (and where applicable, single phase-to-earth) r.m.s. value of the internal arc fault current for which the switchgear is designed to protect persons. arc fault duration: duration of the internal arc fault current for which the switchgear is designed to protect persons.
IAC 標示格式如 IAC-AFL 25 kA 1 s，表示： A = 受限可及性側面（Accessibility type A） F = 前方（Front） L = 側面（Lateral） R = 後方（Rear） 25 kA = 電弧故障電流 1 s = 電弧故障持續時間 試驗合格判準包含：門不得打開、外殼不得穿孔、布指示器不得著火、接地有效性維持。

就像汽車安全碰撞測試的星級評等——不是保證車子不會撞，而是保證撞了之後車內乘客能受到保護。IAC 分級就是開關設備的「碰撞安全星級」。
